Thank you for joining us for the Annual Seedling Sale! Stay tuned about updates for next year! Seedlings are carefully started in the greenhouse each year. A big weekend sale in early May welcomes members and the public to the farm to select what they need for home, school, or community growing.

End of Season Sale November 24th 2024 11 am - 2 Pm

Brookwood's annual End-of-Season Sale is a great opportunity to stock up on fresh, locally grown produce. The sale is held on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, making it the perfect time to gather ingredients for holiday meals and store food for the winter season. We have two great options for getting produce: you can show up to the sale and buy $10 bulk bags and individual items, or you can pre-order a Harvest Box from Brookwood's online store.

Thank you for joining us for the Brookwood Community Farm Annual Meeting! We were thrilled to share more about our mission, receive yearly updates, and hear about our land partnerships. The Friends of Prowse Farm are generously hosting us again in the historic house. 

Jazz on the Farm June 25th 7 pm - 8:30 pm

Brookwood Community Farm presents the 2024 Music on the Farm series thanks to the Canton Cultural Council. On June 25, celebrate the solstice with jazz on the farm from 7:00 to 8:30.

Feel free to bring your favorite chair, pack a delicious picnic dinner, and unwind as you enjoy an evening at DCR’s Brookwood Farm at the base of the Blue Hills.

Parking is primarily on-site, but overflow parking will be available at Trinity Church, 1 Blue Hill River Road, Canton. Carpooling is encouraged!

Folk on the Farm August 31st 4 pm - 6 pm

We are so excited to present the second concert in the Music on the Farm series, thanks to the Canton Cultural Council. On August 31st, enjoy folk on the farm with music from Ragu and Moonbeams, led by two of Brookwood’s farmers! Pack a comfy seat and tasty snacks, and take in the Blue Hills this Saturday evening. Parking is primarily on-site, but overflow parking will be at Trinity Church, 1 Blue Hill River Road, Canton. 

Kids Music on the Farm September 28th 12:30-2:30 PM

For our third concert in the Music on the Farm Series, we are happy to present A Kids Concert: Music by The Mr. Seth Trio on September 28th from 12:20-2:30 PM. The Mr.Seth Trio specializes in traditional and original children’s folk music, emphasizing interactivity. With an extensive collection of bells, shakers, and other little instruments, the audience will be invited to join in the music-making! This event is best for children ages 0-6 years old. Parking is on-site at 11 Blue Hill River Road. 

The Ride for Food October 6th , 2024

Join us for the 2024 Ride for Food, a fundraiser to fight food insecurity in New England. Funds raised through this event will allow us to continue our mission of increasing access to fresh, local food in our community. We aim to raise $18,000 to support our work with accessible CSA shares and donations of fresh local food to our network of food access partners, including pantries, community centers, and the Greater Boston Food Bank. 

The ride is on Sunday, October 6th, and starts at the Nobles and Greenough campus in Dedham with 25, 50, and 62-mile course route options. There is also a 5K walk on October 6th at the Nobles and Greenough campus. You can also participate in the “Off the Beaten Path” virtual and flexible activity to raise funds! Complete a run, ride, hike, or walk at your own pace, anytime, from anywhere between now and November 30th, 2024.

Annual Fall Farm Fundraiser

Farm fundraisers are important each year to continue to provide our regular fresh produce donations to five local food pantries, provide reduced price produce to a farm stand in Mattapan, provide greater access to  fresh food through CSA financial aid and more, such as building up our capital funds for bigger, depreciating items such as tractors, trucks, and trailers, necessary to grow!   If you are interested in future sponsorship or donating, including items for a raffle and silent auction, please reach us at events@brookwoodcommunityfarm.org.

Field to vase workshop July 20th , 2024 3:00-4:30PM

Brookwood Community Farm and the Milton Garden Club are teaming up to produce a free floral design program. The workshop, hosted at Brookwood Farm, focuses on how to incorporate herbs, vegetables, cut flowers and backyard greens into beautiful, sustainable flower arrangements. 

Guests will enjoy a guided walk through Brookwood Farm's flower fields followed by a floral arranging tutorial led by Georgia Lee of the Milton Garden Club. This class has something for everyone--from the beginning floral arranger to those who have experience but want to learn more about design techniques and sustainable floristry.

This 90-minute session is lesson one of a four-part series on foraged flowers which will be taught by the Milton Garden Club in honor of the club's 100th anniversary. Horticultural programming and conservation education are primary tenets of the club's work and this year the club intends to broaden their community programming through workshops and lectures.
